More than 300 people gave their support to a successful soccer tournament in aid of charity that was hosted by the Young Adult Portuguese Society (YAPS) on a Sunday at the Waverley Sports Club in Johannesburg. There were as many as 20 teams that were there to play, and the event was generously supported by OBC Chicken and Meat.

The real winner of the day was the charity that YAPS chose, and this year was a particularly heartfelt one as it was a little boy called Joshua who has a rare kind of cancer, called ‘Ewing’s Zircoma’, that apparently only happens in kids.

Joshua was diagnosed in July 2015 after numerous medical tests. Due to the rarity of the cancer Joshua’s family decided that they would log his journey on a Facebook page called Joshua’s Journey that in future might be used to the benefit of other children.
